Framing of the basement floor continued today.  The perimeter is now complete.  There's also a new beam parallel to the back wall, which marks where the stairs will come down from the first floor.

Day 49 - October 20th

Lots of dirt and gravel movement today!  The area below the garage has been filled in and dirt has been pushed up around the exterior of the house.

Standing on our future front porch, looking towards the back of the house:

Looking down into our storm shelter.  It's something like 9 feet tall!

Gravel has been leveled out in preparation for pouring the basement floor.

Another big tree has been removed from the east side of the house (which makes me a little sad, but it had to go).  It's hard to tell how big it is until you see me standing next to the roots!
